Biographical
Pete Schroeder is a partner at Norris Choplin Schroeder LLP. He concentrates his practice in large loss subrogation, personal injury, mediation, appraisal/umpire and arbitration. His trial experience includes representing plaintiffs and defendants in fire and gas explosions, structural collapses, personal injury and wrongful death, products liability and professional malpractice.
For more than 30 years, Mr. Schroeder has maintained an active mediation practice as a registered civil mediator. During this time, he has conducted over 6,000 mediations including complex wrongful death claims, quadriplegia and paraplegia claims, large property loss claims, medical and legal malpractice claims, products liability claims, claims involving numerous parties and claims involving significant insurance coverage and insurance priority disputes. Mr. Schroeder has mediated throughout the Midwest and frequently travels to different states to conduct mediations.
Mr. Schroeder’s combined focus on litigation and mediation keeps him current on the law applicable to mediation issues, and up to date on changes associated with an active litigation docket and the courtroom environment.
Since 2005, Mr. Schroeder has been recognized as a Super Lawyer® by Law & Politics magazine for his work in large loss subrogation, alternative dispute resolution and civil litigation, with Top 50 Inclusion since 2017. He was selected by his peers in numerous editions of The Best Lawyers in America from 2020 through 2024, including the 2022 Mediation Lawyer of the year in Indianapolis.
Mr. Schroeder speaks at continuing legal education seminars on mediation and litigation. He served as President of the Indianapolis Law Club from 2019 to 2022. He provides consultations on case evaluations and litigation strategy and has served as an expert witness in legal malpractice cases.
Mr. Schroeder was born in Detroit, Michigan. For more thah 40 years, he officiated college and high school wrestling and has volunteered as a junior high wrestling coach. He is active in the local community, serving on various school boards and church commissions.
