Mr. LeVan began his career in 1986 at the Nashville firm then known as Manier, Herod, Hollabaugh & Smith where he practiced in the firm’s litigation department and tried civil cases in state and federal court in the Nashville/Middle Tennessee area with an emphasis on personal injury defense work. Mr. LeVan has been AV rated by Martindale Hubbell since 1997.
In January 1998, Mr. LeVan and three others formed the firm then known as Cox, LeVan, Sprader, & Patton and continued the insurance defense practice. Mr. LeVan concentrated in automobile and trucking litigation, products liability litigation, insurance coverage, and general tort defense work. The firm continues today as LeVan, Sprader, Patton & Plymire where Mr. LeVan remains an active senior partner.
Mr. LeVan became Rule 31 listed as a general civil mediator in 2005. Since then he has conducted over 1,000 mediations. Mediation constitutes approximately 90% of his law practice with the remainder in the insurance defense field.

Mark S. LeVan received his undergraduate degree from the University of Mississippi in 1983 and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Tennessee in 1986. While at the University of Tennessee, he was a published member of the Tennessee Law Review and graduated with honors. He was licensed to practice law in Tennessee in 1986.
