James E. Hacker

Managing  partner James E. Hacker has practiced in civil litigation for 38 years.  He has served as a mediator or arbitrator in more than 750 cases.  These cases range from medical malpractice to complex commercial and employment disputes. He is an elected Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and the International College of Trial Lawyers and has extensive trial experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal courts.  He is a past Chair of the Board of Trustees for Albany Law School, past president of the Legal Aid Society for Northeastern New York and past president of the New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers.

2024 Arbitration/Mediation Rate Schedule

Effective January 1, 2024, rates for services will be:

Mediations:  $550.00 per hour

Arbitrations: $600.00 per hour

PLUS Mediation/Arbitration Administrative Fee : $100.00             

USDC/NDNY Mediations

Federal Mediations scheduled twice per month only

$500.00 for the first two (2) hours, $325.00 per hour for anytime thereafter. 

Preparation/Review: $250.00 per hour, up to four hours.

Cancellations:  If the mediation is cancelled by the parties less than 48 hours prior to the mediation session, the parties will be responsible for one hour of mediation time each to compensate the mediator for his preparation time.
