Biographical
After nearly three decades as a civil trial lawyer, David T. Royse now primarily focuses his efforts on helping others resolve their disputes in mediation. David has represented regional and national banks, utilities, healthcare providers, equine businesses, insurers, and closely held companies. He has also represented numerous plaintiffs and their families who have experienced serious personal injuries and tragic fatalities. David was appointed Plaintiffs’ Liaison Counsel by Karl S. Forester, Sr. Judge, in the Comair 5191 air disaster litigation in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky at Lexington. He has been appointed as a Special Justice on the Kentucky Supreme Court by two Kentucky governors.
David obtained his Bachelor’s degree from Birmingham-Southern College (RIP), cum laude, in 1995, and graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Law, cum laude, Order of the Coif, in 1998. He has taught Law & Economics as an adjunct
professor at the University of Kentucky College of Law.
David completed his initial mediation training at the Harvard Negotiation Institute in 2009 and subsequently completed the 45-hour Advanced Mediation Skills Course through the Bruce Edwards Mediation Academy.
