Biographical
Cori Flam Meltzer, Esq. is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Court Mediator and the Principal Mediator of CFM Mediation, L.L.C., a full-service mediation firm. Her primary mission is to help parties settle their disputes in an efficient, cost-effective, confidential forum in order to avoid the expense, uncertainty, and inconvenience of litigation. Cori gives parties a voice and empowers them so they can critically examine their case, explore creative solutions to their problems, and resolve their differences in a mutually acceptable manner.
Cori is a graduate of Harvard University and Columbia Law School, where she was a Senior Editor of the Columbia Law Review. After law school, Cori served as a law clerk in the U.S. District Court in the District of New Jersey. Thereafter, she worked as a commercial litigator in the Washington, D.C. office of Hogan & Hartson, L.L.C. Cori left Hogan & Hartson to become a Counsel to the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on the Judiciary, where she specialized in the areas of antitrust, technology, reproductive rights, and violence against women.
Ms. Meltzer mediates all types of civil disputes with particular experience in the areas of insurance coverage, maritime, employment law, premises liability, personal injury, contractual disputes, business litigation, and others. She is a frequent lecturer and is certified to provide CLE credit on mediation and negotiation strategies and the interplay between gender, negotiation, and leadership.
Prior to founding CFM Mediation, Cori was the Editor and Business Manager for best-selling author and TV host, Brad Meltzer. She has also been actively involved with voter protection issues throughout the State of Florida. Additionally, she is a Co-founder and Board Member of City Year Miami, and she is a member of Leadership Florida Class XXXII. Cori is a gradute of the Presidential Leadership Scholars Program and is the Broward Director of the 10 Days of Connection project.
