He also served two terms (1988-1991 and 1999-2002) on the NASD National Arbitration and Mediation Committee. He also served as vice chair and chair of the State Bar of California Task Force on Complex Litigation and was a member of the Judicial Council of California working group that promulgated the rules for mediators in court annexed mediations. About 60% of his arbitrations involve all types of employment disputes with the balance largely involving business disputes, securities, ERISA withdrawal liability and attorney malpractice. His mediation experience is more diverse. In addition to the areas covered in his arbitrations, he has mediated a substantial number of mortgage foreclosure, ADA, and other types of ERISA cases.
