Biographical

Phil Davis draws on his nearly 40 years of experience as a litigator in his work as a mediator. He has successfully mediated more than 250 cases. The cases he mediates involve a wide variety of legal issues and range from simple to complex, and from less than ½ day to more than a week. Phil’s newly remodeled office has multiple, comfortably appointed conference rooms, which allows for a neutral site that can accommodate two or more sides to a lawsuit. Any mediation lasting more than a half day will be catered by one of several nearby restaurants to allow participants to stay focused without delaying the mediation process. Phil has lived in New Mexico since 1972. He is a 1978 graduate of the University of New Mexico School of Law and a former law clerk to United States District Judge E.L. Mechem. Phil has been in private practice in Albuquerque since 1981. Since then, he has litigated hundreds of civil rights cases involving police misconduct and employment cases involving wrongful termination, free speech retaliation and whistleblower claims. Not just a civil rights lawyer, Phil also has handled a number of personal injury and contract cases during his long career as a trial lawyer. Phil has tried cases in the federal and state courts all over New Mexico. He has also been involved in numerous appeals in both the New Mexico and federal appellate courts.
