Matt Sweeney is a mediator and arbitrator; he has mediated and arbitrated hundreds of cases, primarily throughout the Southeast. He is a former Tennessee Circuit Court Judge (more than 150 jury trials and at least as many bench trials), who temporarily exercised Criminal Court jurisdiction as well,  and was Presiding Judge in the Nashville district's Trial Courts.  Initially trained in  white collar criminal defense, he has broad national experience in complex civil, and local criminal, litigation.  Mr. Sweeney is a member of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals and a member of the American Arbitration Association mediation and arbitration panels.  He has been long active in the area of legal ethics and professionalism, having chaired the Nashville Bar Association committee, and having served on the Tennessee Bar Association  committee which drafted the Rules of Professional Conduct for consideration by the Tennessee Supreme Court.
