Biographical

Wallace G. (Buster) Holland is the former chair of the firm’s Workers’ Compensation practice group and has a preeminent reputation in South Carolina for handling and mediating workers’ compensation claims.

Buster has practiced law for over 46 years with the firm of Young Clement Rivers, LLP (and its predecessors) and was the Practice Chair of the workers' compensation practice group for over 38 years. He has served on numerous committees with the state and local bar associations and The South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Educational Association. In 2013, he received the Lifetime Achievement Award of the South Carolina Workers' Compensation Educational Association. He has been a Martindale-Hubbell® AV rated lawyer for over 25 years and has been listed in The South Carolina Super Lawyers and The Best Lawyers in America for many years. Additionally, he was named Lawyer of the Year for Workers' Compensation Law - Employers 2017 by The Best Lawyers in America.

Since 2009, Buster has practiced as a certified Circuit Court Mediator and has successfully mediated over 1000 workers’ compensation and third party lien cases. He presently limits his practice to mediation.

Education

Buster was born in Florence, South Carolina and attended The Citadel on a baseball scholarship. While at The Citadel, he was an All-American Catcher and Southern Conference Batting Chairman, 1969. Additionally, he was inducted into The Citadel Athletic Hall of Fame in 1991. After graduation, Buster attended The University of South Carolina School of Law where he was a member of the South Carolina Law Review. He earned his Juris Doctor Degree in 1972 and was admitted to practice with The South Carolina Bar at that time.
