BIOGRAPHICAL:
Mr. Sheehan, a 1973 graduate of the University of Michigan School of Law, is a Director and Shareholder of Sheehan & Sheehan P. A., where he has practiced since 1974. He heads the firm's construction law practice and teaches construction law as an adjunct professor at the University of New Mexico Department of Civil Engineering. During his more than three decades of practice, Mr. Sheehan has successfully represented a broad array of construction industry clients, including construction managers, general contractors (building, highway, and public works), subcontractors, owners (public and private), design professionals, and various construction industry trade associations. He regularly represents clients in cases involving contract interpretation, construction failures, construction defects, change orders, bid protests, defective specifications, payment disputes, differing site conditions, schedule analysis, delay damages, construction liens, Miller Act claims, and licensing matters. He also has represented numerous homeowners and homebuilders in residential construction disputes. Mr. Sheehan has over 25 years of experience in commercial construction disputes with projects up to $100 million, and over 25 years of experience in disputes involving highways and bridgework on projects up to $250 million.
Mr. Sheehan also is an experienced arbitrator and mediator. He is a member of the American Arbitration Association's Construction Industry Arbitration Panel for complex construction law matters, and a fellow of the American College of Construction Lawyers. He is also a member of the Construction Industry Forum and the Public Contracts Section of the American Bar Association, and the Associated General Contractors of New Mexico.
Mr. Sheehan holds an AV Preeminent rating in Martindale Hubbell Law Directory, and is recognized in Southwest Super Lawyers in the area of construction law. He also is the author of a treatise entitled Construction Law in New Mexico, which provides members of the construction industry and lawyers with a comprehensive overview of construction law in the State.

Rates$325 Per Hour - Hourly rate applies to hearings, travel, study and award writing time. Applicable gross receipts tax for arbitration services rendered in the New Mexico will be charged.
