BIOGRAPHICAL:Donald R. (Tad) Powers is a mediator, arbitrator and an attorney licensed in state and federal courts, with over thirty-five years' experience in civil litigation and transactions. As an attorney, Tad has represented plaintiffs and defendants, insurance carriers and municipalities, school districts and contractors.
As a mediator, he has broad training and more than fifteen years' experience.He has successfully mediated hundreds of environmental, employment, commercial, personal injury, construction, professional liability, organizational and family disputes
As an arbitrator, Tad has decided employment, construction, real estate and other disputes, and has served as a Hearing Officer with the Vermont Department of Education.
As an ADR teacher and trainer, Tad has presented and taught at dozens of seminars, workshops and conferences and serves as Adjunct Professor of Law teaching Mediation, Negotiation, Alternative Dispute Resolution and Environmental Dispute Resolution at Vermont Law School. He has been a guest lecturer on Negotiation at the Tuck School of Business of Dartmouth College.
