BIOGRAPHICAL:I have been licensed to practice law in North Carolina since August, 1972. I practiced law in the Simpson, Aycock P.A. law firm until September 2000, when I became a partner at Starnes, Aycock, Haire, Hogan, Saunders & Rigsbee, PLLC. I am a member in good standing of the North Carolina State Bar and also hold the "AV" rating by Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory. I have been included in the 2008 and 2009 editions of The Best Lawyers in America in the specialty of Alternative Dispute Resolution.
I am certified as a Superior Court Mediator by the Dispute Resolution Commission of North Carolina, and have conducted in excess of 1000 mediated settlement conferences to date. I am also a member of the American Arbitration Association's Commercial Arbitration panel.
I presented seminars entitled "Ethical Considerations in Mediation & Settlement" and "Mediation & Settlement: Techniques and Tips from the Masters", both events sponsored by the NC Academy of Trial Lawyers.
