Biographical
Robert Heath is a native of Pensacola with over 42 years of experience as a trial lawyer and has tried over 100 jury trials. He is a graduate of Auburn University and earned his law degree from Florida State University School of Law in 1981. He served as an Assistant State Attorney in the First Judicial Circuit of Florida before entering private practice in 1983. He is a Florida Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer and is board certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy in both Civil Trial Law and Civil Practice.
Robert has advanced mediation training from Harvard Law School and has been a certified mediator for over 30 years and mediated over 4,000 cases in the areas of personal injury, wrongful death, first-party insurance (windstorm, hailstorm, flood, fire claims), medical mapractice, product liability, mass torts, toxic exposure, employment, sexual harrassment, police misconduct, real estate, probate, homeowners associations and more. He has served on several national arbitration panels including the Celotex Asbestos Settlement Trust, the Fibreboard Global Asbestos Settlement Claims Trust, the Dalkon Shield Claimants Trust, and the Piper Aircraft Corporation Irrevocable Trust. He has arbitrated cases in several states and served as chief arbitrator for consolidated toxic exposure claims arising from chemical exposure as well as numerous insurance and property disputes. He served as one of thirteen attorneys in the nation on the Appeals Panel of the Deepwater Horizon Economic and Property Damage Settlement Program, the largest settlement in U.S. history, as well as other court-appointed class action settlements.
Robert is also a registered mediator in Alabama.
