BIOGRAPHICAL:Richard is a native Arkansan who has been a practicing lawyer since 1978. His experience in areas of practice have included multi-district litigation involving agricultural products and machinery, products liability, trucking injury, medical injury, personal injury, and commercial dispute. Since 2004 mediation and arbitration have been a growing part of his practice. Conducted in association with ADR, Inc., his mediation experience includes working with counsel and parties to resolve complex, multi-party disputes. In addition to Jonesboro, Arkansas where he resides, Richard has presided over mediations and arbitrations in Memphis, Tennessee, Little Rock, and other communities within the State of Arkansas.
EDUCATION:Richard graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Ouachita Baptist University in 1974, and he is a longtime member of the university's board of trustees. He currently serves as that board's chairman. Richard earned a Master's degree from Baylor University, attended Washington & Lee University, and completed law school at the University of Arkansas in 1978.
Memberships & AffiliationsRichard is licensed to practice in all Arkansas state courts, federal district courts, and the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Arkansas Bar Association (Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee, Civil Litigation Committee, and Tort Law Committee). Richard is a certified mediator in both Arkansas and Tennessee. Since 2009 Richard has been listed as "Mid-South Super Lawyer".
