BIOGRAPHICAL:

Phyllis Florman maintains a practice devoted exclusively to the arbitration and mediation of disputes both in the public sector and the private sector. She is a member of the National Academy of Arbitrators and a Fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers. Ms. Florman is listed with the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service as well as with American Arbitration Association’s Labor Arbitration, Commercial Arbitration, Employment Arbitration, and Mediation Panels.

Ms. Florman also has extensive experience as an arbitrator and mediator of labor and employment disputes. She also handles commercial cases arising under ADR programs, individual employment contracts which raise statutory claims and Fair Share Fee Determinations.

Ms. Florman's ADR training includes the Harvard Law School Mediation Training for Lawyers, the National Academy of Arbitrators advanced mediation training, the USPS REDRESS program training, and the EEOC mediation program.

Ms. Florman was an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Louisville’s Louis D. Brandeis School of Law. She has served as the neutral chair of the Kentucky Bar Association’s and Louisville Bar Association’s Labor & Employment Law Sections and ADR Sections. Ms. Florman has been a contributor and a chapter editor for several editions of Elkouri & Elkouri, How Arbitration Works.
