BIOGRAPHICAL:Lynn P. Cohn is the Director of the Center on Negotiation and Mediation at Northwestern Law School and currently holds the Harry B. Reese Teaching Chair. Professor Cohn has devoted her career to the field of dispute resolution, both in her service as a mediator, special master and trainer and in her work educating the next generation of problem-solvers.
Professor Cohn has served as a mediator or arbitrator in over 2000
cases with an emphasis on employment, personal injury and commercial
disputes whether in the single plaintiff, multi-party, class action or collective action context. She has managed the settlement process of numerous complex class actions. Her practice is national and international in scope and
includes projects in Brazil, Israel, Abu Dhabi, South Africa, Ghana,
London, Paris, Milan, Central America, Ireland and Puerto Rico. Professor Cohn has been elected to the Leading Lawyers Network in the categories of ADR Commercial and ADR Employment.
Professor Cohn has developed and taught courses in negotiation, mediation, mediation advocacy, emotional intelligence, conflict management and problem solving. She received the student-voted Outstanding Professor of a Small Class Award in 2008 and the Dean’s Teaching Award in 2010 and 2011.
