Biographical

Lynn P. Cohn is the Co-Director of the Center on Negotiation, Mediation, and Restorative Justice at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law.  Professor Cohn has devoted her career to the field of dispute resolution, both in her service as a mediator, special master, and trainer and in her work educating the next generation of problem-solvers.

Professor Cohn has served as a mediator or arbitrator in over 5000 cases with an emphasis on employment and commercial disputes whether in the single plaintiff, multi-party, class action, or collective action context.  She has managed the settlement process of numerous complex class actions. Her practice is national and international in scope and includes projects in Brazil, Israel, Abu Dhabi, South Africa, Ghana, London, Paris, Milan, Central America, Ireland, and Puerto Rico. Professor Cohn has been elected to the Leading Lawyers Network in the categories of ADR Commercial and ADR Employment.

Professor Cohn has developed and taught courses in negotiation, mediation, mediation advocacy,  emotional intelligence, conflict management and problem-solving.  She has received the student-voted Outstanding Professor of a Small Class Award and the Dean’s Teaching Award.
