BIOGRAPHICAL:

Larry W. Burks, president and founder of Burks ADR, LLC, Little Rock, Arkansas, serves as the principal neutral for mediations and arbitrations. Mr. Burks retired from 40 years of law practice which included 3 years with the United States Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC) and 37 years with Friday, Eldredge & Clark, Little Rock, Arkansas. Mr. Burks graduated the basic mediator training provided by Lipscomb University, Institute of Conflict Management, Nashville, Tennessee, and is certified by the Arkansas ADR Commission as a civil and probate mediator.


Mr. Burks' hallmark objective for Burks ADR is to provide neutral, dedicated, innovative, efficient and focused mediation, arbitration and conflict management services.

EDUCATION:

Mr. Burks graduated in 1965 from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, with a major in accounting and then served on active duty with the United States Army commanding an air defense artillery (missiles) battery. Upon graduating from law school at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, in 1970, Mr. Burks was a trial attorney for the SEC where he investigated and tried persons and businesses for securities fraud and securities law violations.

Memberships & Affiliations

Mr. Burks, AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell, is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, United States Districts Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Arkansas, and the Arkansas Supreme Court. On a pro hac vice basis, Mr. Burks has also practiced in other Federal and State courts throughout the United States.

Mr. Burks is a long standing member of the American Bar Association and Arkansas Bar Association. He is currently a member of American Bar Dispute Resolution Committee and Sections of Business Law and International Law.  Mr. Burks is former Chair, Arkansas Bar ADR Section and presently serves on the Arkansas Bar's Ethics Committee, Investment Committee and Chair, Task Force on Professional Liability Insurance.
