Biographical

 

John has been a full-time Mediator/Arbitrator for over 25 years. He has now Mediated over 2,100 matters in 34 states. The causes of action cover virtually all parts of Commercial/Civil Litigation. Before permanently going over to the dark side he was a Philadelphia Deputy City Solicitor in Major Litigation. Earlier, he was Staff Counsel for Fireman’s Fund and Allstate Insurance Companies. Before that he worked with Milton M. Borowsky in Jones Act/LSHWA and Air Plane Crash Litigation. He has also served as a Law Clerk to Judges Ethan Allen Doty (In charge of Compulsory Arbitration) and Joseph I. Papalini. While in and just after law school he worked as a Senior Law Clerk in the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Philadelphia on both Civil/Criminal matters. He has a BBA in Economics; an MBA in Marketing in Statistical Analysis, with a minor in Management; a Law Degree; and he almost completed an LLM in Labor Law all at Temple University. Finally, he moved to Hartly, Delaware, more than 19 years ago, where he calls himself the current edition of Green Acres-Eddie Albert because he, and his wife Eleanor, have a farm complete with a  Tennessee Walker horse named Bo, 2 Alpacas named Mr. Murphy and Stardust and an assortment of dogs (Among them 3 Goldies and 1 Corgis) and cats.

PLEASE CALL FOR DETAILS. ON MOST MATTERS I USE AN HOURLY RATE BUT, IF APPROPRIATE, I WILL CONSIDER A HALF OR FULL DAY RATE OR A FLAT ALL INCLUDED (EXCEPT TRAVEL EXPENSES SINCE THEY ARE UNKNOWN) PROPOSAL. I DO NOT CHARGE FOR TRAVEL TIME BETWEEN NYC AND NORTHERN VIRGINIA (UP TO 3 HOURS ONE WAY). IN ADDITION, I AM GENERALLY AVAILABLE ON WEEKENDS IF THAT IS THE ONLY TIME THAT COUNSEL/PARTIES ARE AVAILABLE.
