Involved in the general practice of law for 28 years, representing both plaintiffs and defendants. Clients included financial institutions, commercial contractors, Highway contractors, title companies, general corporations, both large and small, professional corporations, trusts and condemnation. While practicing law I carried an AV Martindale-Hubbel rating.

As a general jurisdiction trial judge for 20 years, I have tried cases involving all of the above areas of law as well as toxic torts, medical malpractice, asbestos, breast implants, aviation, commercial contracts, pipe line contracts and construction claims, and consumer claims. Served as an Arbitration Panel Member on the Celotex Asbestos Property Damage Trust, arbitrating claims from all over the United States.

Former faculty member - Texas Center for the Judiciary; Chairman of the Judicial Peer Committee that developed the Benchbook for the Texas Judiciary (published 1994). Former member of the Advisory Board of the Texas Bar Foundation and former director of the University of Texas Law School Association. I was consistently evaluated in the top 10% of judges in the Dallas Bar Association Judicial evaluation poll.

From January 1995 I have served as a Retired and Senior State Judge in addition to an active mediation/arbitration practice handling both Federal and State Court cases. I have mediated over 2,000 cases and approximately 85% of those cases have been successfully resolved.

Served as an arbitrator handling over 3200 claims. Have served as a mediator in over 2,000 cases.
