BIOGRAPHICAL:

Hal Braff has been a practicing trial attorney in New Jersey since 1960 and in New York since 1983. In 1982 he was Certified as a Civil Trial Attorney by the Supreme Court of New Jersey and in 1997 Certified as a Mediator by The Institute for Dispute Resolution. He is rated A-V by Martindale-Hubbell.

Hal has been an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of San Diego Summer Sessions (1977, 1979, 1981, 1984) teaching Trial Presentation and at Rutgers University Law School, Newark Campus, since 1990, teaching Trial Presentation and Negotiation Skills. From 2001-2007, he taught Negotiation Skills at Beijing University in its International MBA Program.

From the onset of his career, as an attorney, he was a partner in the law firm which bore his name, known today as Braff Harris and Sukoneck, with offices in Livingston, New Jersey and New York City. While there he served as Chair of the Litigation Group of the Defense Research Institute and a Member of the Product Liability Council. Hal has, throughout his career, had extensive trial experience in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York in areas as varied as plaintiff and defendant personal injury, asbestos defense, environmental, employment, product liability, insurance policy interpretation, errors and admissions policy issues, legal , medical engineering and accounting malpractice claims , construction claims and construction contracts.

In 2003 Hal became Of Counsel to the firm of Margulies Wind with offices in Jersey City, New Jersey. He now serves full-time as mediator, arbitrator, special discovery master and counsel to select clients.
