As a respected attorney, business and community leader, George F. Knox was instrumental in shaping South Florida’s diverse economic landscape. Both behind-the-scenes and "on-the-record," Mr. Knox has helped establish many of Miami’s signature enterprises. He terminated his active legal practice in 2010, after 37 years. He is now an ADR practitioner, public speaker and lecturer.

Mr. Knox served as a Visiting Faculty Member at the Florida International University College of Law between 2010 and December, 2014, teaching courses in Negotiation and Mediation. He was a member of the faculty at the University Of Arkansas School Of Law. He has also lectured at the University Of Miami School Of Law, as well as its School of Business Administration; Nova University Law School, and Florida International University College of Urban and Public Affairs.

Mr. Knox was named one of Miami’s 100 Most Powerful People. He has been designated a Legal Legend by the 11th Judicial Circuit Historical Society. In April, 2015, Knox received the William M. Hoeveler Ethics and Public Service Award.

Mr. Knox maintains a private Mediation practice that features mindful reflection and relationship-building negotiation techniques. The aim is to foster the development of a peaceful culture that facilitates legal problem solving without resort to litigation. These techniques are most effective in matters where disputes involve policy or ideological differences, or intense emotional dynamics, or where race, ethnicity or culture may be factors affecting resolution.

Mr. Knox received his Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University in 1966, majoring in Zoology, and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Miami School of Law in 1973.
