BIOGRAPHICAL:Douglas A. Glass is a mediator in San Diego, California, and devotes his entire professional practice exclusively to mediations. Since becoming a full-time mediator in 2001, Doug has been selected as the mediator in over 3,000 cases establishing him as one of the most trusted, experienced and popular mediators in California. He has a reputation for hard work, thorough preparation, pinpoint case valuations, sincere and straightforward conversations, engaging the parties in a critical analysis of the factual and legal issues, being a positive and tireless leader helping the parties find creative solutions, not letting the parties quit, being tough on the problem, and inspiring the parties to determine and craft their own outcome to the dispute. As a result of his dedication and passion for mediation and helping others, Doug is now one of only three mediators based in San Diego County listed in both the prestigious Best Lawyers in America and Super Lawyers(R) 2011 Editions in the category of Alternative Dispute Resolution. He is also recognized by San Diego Magazine, "The Los Angeles Times" and U.S. News and World Report as one of the top attorneys in the field of alternative dispute resolution in San Diego. Glass Mediations is located in the landmark Mr. A's Building near Balboa Park and has panoramic views from Mexico to La Jolla. The private three room suite provides a neutral, comfortable, safe and confidential environment for the parties to explore settlement options, and the main conference room seats 20 people comfortably. Each room has an LCD television allowing for video or digital presentations and wireless access is also available. Refreshments are provided so that all participants can keep their energy level high in order to maintain focus on the issues at hand.
Between 1982 and 2001, Doug was a civil trial attorney with an emphasis on real estate, personal injury, and construction defect litigation. He primarily represented plaintiffs, but developed an expertise in defending home inspectors and, as a result, did a significant amount of insurance defense work for construction and design professionals. Doug tried over 100 cases during his career and in 1997 was honored by the Consumer Attorneys of San Diego with an Outstanding Trial Lawyer Award. In 2001, he was recognized by the California Real Estate Inspection Association as one of the twenty-five most influential individuals in the twenty-five year history of CREIA.
